COSMOSFloWorks belongs to a new breed of simulation software known as Engineering Fluid Dynamics (EFD). EFD software is specifically developed for design engineers, as opposed to CFD software that is designed for a specialist. EFD is goal-oriented: For example, minimize pressure drop through a valve, or minimize temperature in a computer cabinet, or maximize mass flow rate through an opening. While CFD software requires you to translate your goals to numerical convergence criteria, iteration numbers and relaxation factors, you simply instruct EFD software to solve for your goals. Results are presented in an analysis tree where you access icons to plot sections, 3D flow vectors and streamlines, pressure contours, mass flow rates, etc. You can generate 2D plots of any postprocessed quantity with direct integration to Excel using any sketch lines or edges, and generate reports with the direct integration to Word.
